Rosenrot is a figure of a fairytale. (Schneeweißchen und Rosenrot; Snow-white and Rose-red; two innocent little girls)

And the poem you mean is from Goethe (most important german poet i suppose) called “Heideröslein”.
My interpretation of the poem:
It’s about
a) a girl losing virginity by force or
b) a girl losing virginity and then being left with her broken heart

The song combines both, though the man is the loser in it.

hmm well what i got was a girl saw a really big rose and she wanted it and she gets what she wants and she sent her boyfriend to gte it and it was on a cliff then he fell and died trying to get it lol
