		<description>Many diseases are caused by problems in gene production (errors in transcription, translation and/or regulation). For example, cystic fibrosis and sickle cell anemia.
By regulating the quality and quantity of these proteins using new technologies, we can hope to cure or at least mitigate the effects of these diseases. Cool stuff if you think about it!
Or...if too much cell division is occurring (i.e. cancer) you could upregulate the production of cell division regulatory proteins (i.e. CDK) to decrease cell division.
Gene-regulation in developmental biology is also really cool stuff! not really related to quality of life type of things though.</description>
